Creating a Fashion Lookbook

Would you like to work with Grace Markham Photography on your next fashion lookbook? If you’re unsure about what you need or need some guidance and direction Grace has a wonderful team that can make magic happen.

Grace has a unique understanding of the key things to consider when producing a campaign/lookbook. Firstly, discussing with her clients what they want to achieve, working through inspirational images and ideas to develop a concept for the photoshoot.

Next up, having a creative and passion fashion stylist who can create and combine their ideas to suit the style of your brand. In the beginning I found it hard to locate a decent fashion stylist but now I have the pefect one! ;D

Make-up/Hair Stylist

To me a makeup artist is not just someone who can bring along there kit and do the make-up on set, there is a lot more to it. Finding a makeup artist that understands studio lighting and how this can affect how the makeup looks on camera. Understanding face highlights and preventing shine in the right areas and having that extra special attention to details. An experience make-up artist is crucial to perfecting the final look, I have a wonderful make-up artist who looks at the finer details, brushing eyebrows/eyelash positions and on top of that are a great hand on shoot in supporting the whole team.

Some Great Tips in preparing for a lookbook

– Create a pintrest board is a great starting point

– Find images, colours and make a visual board

– Decided on how many final images you need

Last but not least, organisation, wow this is Grace’s number one! EVERY shoot Grace produces has a Call Sheet, covering all details, locations, times, contact details of crew, theme/moodboard, a schedule/plan of the whole day with times and locations to match each outfit with sketches of situ or scenario for that look.

Grace Markham Photography is a fashion photographer in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and is always excited to create new campaigns, whose next?
